Summer Bishil was born in New York City. She is best-known for her role as Margo Hanson in Syfy's fantasy show The Magicians. In the Alan Ball film Towelhead featured her in the role of Jasira Maoun and was a Lebanese American teenager who is forced to confront a variety of personal problems in connection to the U.S. invaders of Iraq. The film was picked by Variety as one of the 10 actors to watch. The 2009 film Crossing Over, in which she portrayed the tough character Taslima Jhangir and was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award as the most outstanding female lead.
